A DIRECTOR SHOULD HAVE THE KIND OF TRAINING THAT WOULD PROVIDE GOOD RESEARCH SKILLS, MATH SKILLS, AND PEOPLE SKILLS. AN EXCELLENT UNDERSTANDING OF WATER SYSTEMS, WATER TREATMENT METHODS, AND THE NATURAL SCIENCES MUST BE A PART OF THE DIRECTORS 'S RESUME.A BOARD MEMBER OF ANY KIND MUST HAVE GOOD PEOPLE SKILLS. HE OR SHE MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WITH THE ENTIRE BOARD AS A TEAM IN ORDER TO BE EFFECTIVE. THE MEMBER MUST HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THE INGREDIENTS OF QUALITY WATER SHOULD BE, AND THE KIND OF MICRO-CONTAMINANTS THERE MAY BE IF IT IS NOT PROPERLY TREATED. HOW IS WATER BROUGHT TO THE TAP? THIS IS A MAJOR PART OF THE COST OF WATER DUE TO THE ENERGY INVOLVED, PIPE, AND PUMP SYSTEMS. HOW DOES WATER FIT INTO THE NATURAL AND AGRICULTURE ENVIRONMENT? THE DIRECTOR MUST HAVE STUDIED ALL THESE PARTS OF THE JOB IN ORDER TO STAY INFORMED, AND BE ABLE TO ADD CONSTRUCTIVE INFORMATION AT MEETINGS. THE CANDIDATE'S RESUME SHOULD INDICATE A BACKGROUND OF TRAINING SUCH AS YOU SEE IN MINE. |
