Population Growth

By Dale M. Walwark

Candidate for Member, Town Council; Town of Moraga

This information is provided by the candidate
This is the key to our future and to traffic. We must limit it as much as possible.
Moraga has unique restrictions on ingress and egress. We are miles from a major highway and the narrow, hilly roads connecting us to the outside world are not going to be enlarged. As "the town at the end of the cul de sac," we have no choice but to limit our growth as much as possible.

We must also do what we can to make casual car-pooling and the use of public transportation an appeal option for commuters.

I also favor a fourth bore for the Caldecott Tunnel, although this is beyond the scope of the Town of Moraga and, frankly, only a "mitigation" with regard to the major traffic problems in the Bay Area.
