My Plan to Expand BART Parking & Access
BART needs needs new parking facilities. Lots of them. Some claim that BART shouldn't build more parking, but should rely on bus, pedestrian, bicycle and shuttle access. We should do all those things and provide more parking.

When I first ran for the BART Board, I promised to support a continuation of free parking at the BART lots and I've kept that promise. Some who want to charge for parking at the existing lots, simply want to punish those who must use cars to get to the BART stations. I don't agree with that approach. So, I would keep the existing parking lots free

I have proposed that BART build new parking facilities, using public/private partnerships. We could finance those new parking facilities with an appropriate charge on the new facilities. That way BART would have some free parking and some paid parking. I believe people would support paying a reasonable parking charge to help pay for new , additional parking.
