Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Bill McManigal

Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Concord

This information is provided by the candidate

I have worked hard since 1994 to reform our local government and have succeeded in changing the way we do business as a city. We have created a program based budget to deliver more services to Concord residents and at the same time have refused all efforts to raise Concord taxes. I insist that we receive a full dollar's value for every tax dollar spent. The results of this work? Concord is now recognized as a leader in the field of innovative government and we have received awards for the work we have done. Even more to the point, more than 70 cities have contacted us in the past year alone seeking help in changing the way they do business. I have been, and continue to be, Concord's No. 1 Taxpayer Advocate, and Concord's No. 1 Booster. We have brought more jobs, created more affordable housing, and reduced the major crime rate to greater degree than any other city, on a per capita basis. This truly is a fine city to live, work and raise a family, and I intend to continue to work hard to make it even better in the next 4 years.
