LORI LANDIS WILL REPRESENT ALL MORAGANS

  • I believe in simple, direct, common sense, community-oriented government representing all Moragans.

The Town Council, ideally, should represent the collective consensus of the townspeople. The Town Council must be pro-active, fair, and aware of the values we hold high. As Moragans, we must work together as a team and focus on issues that may impact our quality of life here in Moraga.

  • I support goals that balance community development and expand opportunities for youth and seniors.

  • I will maintain an open mind and be available to listen your ideas and suggestions.

  • I encourage your input, discussion and participation in our Town.

  • Once elected, I will work to ensure Moragans are more aware of Council activities.

This will include improved public notification of issues before the Council. Agendas for each meeting will be posted in more public places. Bi-weekly email notifications to all interested residents will be sent out with information on all Town activities, including Town Council agendas, upcoming events and community projects. The Town Web Page will be revitalized to become more current and informative. I encourage all questions and comments.

  • I will work to foster improved communication between residents and the business community by maintaining an open mind and listening to all sides of issues presented to the Council for consideration.

Successful resolution of issues, such as traffic improvement, preservation of open space, responsible growth, and provision of new Town facilities will require cooperation between residents and the business community. I believe that the Town Council should promote the cooperation by clearly presenting the benefits and shortfalls of each issue prior to approval by Moragans.

  • We must provide better communications with our youth and our seniors.

Once elected, I would like to establish and actively participate in liaisons with our seniors. I would like to listen and openly discuss ideas and concerns. What better way to learn than from those who have "been there and done that"? Our youth are our future. Providing opportunities, listening, and working with our youth is important and beneficial. As Councilperson, I would welcome the opportunity to be assigned the responsibility for establishing, opening, and enhancing communications with our valued community members.

  • I will work hard to improve communications between the Town Council and the School Board.

Our children are Moragans also and require the benefit of cooperation between these two entities. By working more closely, the Town Council and the School Board will find better ways of meeting our children's education needs and improve the Town overall.

LORI WILL PROVIDE LEADERSHIP THAT MORAGA EXPECTS AND DESERVES

  • I am in the process of developing an email list for all Moragan's. Please e-mail me to be included in bi-weekly notifications of Moraga's activities, events and Town Council agendas. E-mail notifications will begin on October 7th and be mailed out each weekend before the Council meetings.
