Smart Voter Full Biography for Wanda Kay Fuller

Candidate for
Director; Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District; Ward 1

This information is provided by the candidate

As a fifteen year veteran driver at A C Transit I learned the transit system from the inside out. I have personal experience - both as a driver and a rider - addressing the problems of seniors, children, new workers, commuters and the disabled when riding public transit. I'm a small business owner in downtown Richmond with deep roots in our community. I've lived in Richmond for 25 years, attending Harry Ells High School, working at the Richmond Division of A C Transit, and with my husband Ira - raising our children here. We will improve this city and the surrounding communities through small business and improved transit service. I want to champion the mobility concerns of working families in our long-neglected neighborhoods, implementing my vision of citizen involvement in the transit decisions that affect our everyday lives. I was moved to community activism when my family was affected by transit service reductions in our community. I believe that with creativity and hard work we can put back and sustain transit service. I know how to work hard. And I'm ready to go to work for the neighborhoods in Ward 1.
