Measure U Proposed Charter Amendments -- City of Stockton
Shall the Charter of the City of Stockton be amended to: (1) Redefine the role and responsibilities of the position of Mayor of the City of Stockton as it relates to the Council / Manager form of government by giving the Mayor the authority to direct the City's Public Information Office; propose direction and goals that the annual budget would be built around; nominate the City Manager subject to confirmation by the City Council. AND (2) Establish a commission for setting the salaries for City elected officials. AND (3) Expand the audit duties of the City Auditor.

Measure V Approval of Transient Occupancy Tax -- City of Stockton
Shall Ordinance No. 021-99 C.S. adopted by the Stockton City Council on November 23, 1999, be approved to authorize a one percent (1%) increase, from the current eight percent (8%), to nine percent (9%) in the City of Stockton's Transient Occupancy Tax charged by the operators of a hotel, motel, inn, or similar structure to persons who use the same for dwelling, lodging, or sleeping purposes for a period of 30 days or less.

Measure W Low Rent Housing Projects Measure -- City of Stockton
Without increasing local taxes, by utilizing federal or state funding, shall public or publicly assisted housing providers, within the City of Stockton, according to the City's General Plan, construct, develop, acquire, rehabilitate and/or convert housing project(s) into decent, safe, sanitary and uncrowded units for low-income, elderly, or handicapped persons, up to 500 units annually, for ten years, with any unused units carried over annually?
