WHO IN THE HECK IS DAVE BLASE ??

I am happily married to Kathleen. We have two wonderful children, Emily age 14, and Will age 10. Emily is a freshman at Pinole Valley High School and Will is a fifth grader at Stewart School. I have a step-son Peter, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Janine and their two children Lexie and Mandy. My parents, Emil and Glendene and sister Debra live in the same house in El Cerrito, where I grew up.

I graduated from El Cerrito High School, received my Associate of Science degree from Contra Costa College, and Bachelor of Arts degree from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. I received my Juris Doctor degree from John F. Kennedy School of Law in Walnut Creek.

I have also taken many other post-graduate courses over the years, and have completed about half of the requirements for both a Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Science in Telecommunications Management at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

I was a member of the1994 Pinole Municipal Task Force Committee which studied the provision of city services during the then-current "budget crisis." I am currently a Pinole Planning Commissioner, and am Chairman of the Citizen's 2000 Blue Ribbon Committee which was established by the City Council in January 1999 to determine how Measure T (Utility User Tax) revenues should be prioritized.

My wife Kathleen received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University in New Orleans (now University of New Orleans) and her Masters of Education from Saint Mary's College in Moraga.

Starting in 1979, I worked for Chevron for fourteen-plus years. All assignments were in the field of contracting and purchasing where I contracted for or purchased non-oil and gas related goods and services. The scope of my procurement experience ranged from the buying of pens and pencils to contracting for software development, and many, many goods and services in between.

While at Chevron, I went to law school at night. Since 1994, I have practiced law as a sole practitioner. My law office is located in Point Richmond. My practice is varied, I predominantly deal in family law matters in addition to serving the needs of small business owners.

My wife operates the Montessori Children's House of Pinole which she established in 1980, teaching children ages 2-1/2 to 6.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf with friends (although I am not good at it), reading, keeping informed of current events, computing, and watching the 49ers and Raiders (when they are not blacked out) on TV.
