1. What are your views regarding the need for public transportation in your community to promote access to employment throughout the region?

Delhi is served by Queen City Metro routes, which terminate in downtown Cincinnati. The service is partially supported by part of the City of Cincinnati's earnings tax, which is paid by almost 80% of Delhi residents. We need new ideas in public transportation. I favor pilot programs with smaller vehicles. The cost of "light rail" appears prohibitive without massive government funding.

2. Would you be in favor of county-wide campaign finance regulations that would provide for public matching funds, limit campaign contributions and provide for more disclosure? State your opinions on these ideas; whether you would support or oppose them.

The county does not have law making powers. There is no legal way to adopt "county-wide" campaign finance regulations which would apply to all the county's 12 townships and 36 municipalities. Further, there is no way to provide for "public matching funds" without additional taxes - which I oppose. I favor more disclosure.

3. What are the benefits/detriments to land use planning prior to zoning decisions?

The issue has limited interest in Delhi as we are mostly "built up". So-called "land use planning" requires significant financial support from local governments. Delhi was the first area township to have full local zoning, and among the first to have hillside development regulations. Local control of this important function has helped us control growth in our community. Another layer of government red-tape would not provide a major benefit.
