Council Member; City of Silverton

Arthur Hackett, Jr., a 30 year resident of Silverton. Attended the University of Cincinnati and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Married to Shirley and father of two children, Brain Hackett and Lynn Millwood. Stepfather of Donna Brown and Cheryl Eakins. Grandfather of Taylor and Sidney Hackett and Jorden Caldwell.

He was treasurer of Silverton for 4 years, Councilman (Silverton/ Forest Park) 11 years, and Mayor for two years. Former Commander, First Vice Commander adn Tresare of Lt. Ralph H. Greene. Past American Legion 636, past President of the Silverton Democratic Party. Mr. Hackett is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Association (F.O.P.A.) Life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (N.A.A.C.P.) Mr. Hackett is currently a member of the Deer Park Silverton Fire District Board of Trustees. He is endorsed by the Silverton Democratic Party.

In 1991 he retired from his job as Manager of Office Service at General Electric, Evendale, Ohio.
