1. What effect would the community (charter) schools have on the public schools in your district?
|
Answer from Elaine Gauck:
N/A as we have no charter schools.
Answer from William E. Lambert:
Increase our commitment to make public schools a true quality choice for parents.
2. Evaluate the adequacy of support services, beyond state standards, presently provided for special-needs students in your district.
|
Answer from Elaine Gauck:
Our students receive one on one ratio for special needs students.
Answer from William E. Lambert:
State funding for special needs students is totally inadequate for the mandated services required. District funding is not adequate to close the gap, but has increased substantially.
3. Has the use of proficiency tests in your school improved the education of students?
|
Answer from William E. Lambert:
Proficiency testing has increased focus and resources on increasing student achievement and career readiness. We seek a healthy balance however, with our aim the development of the whole student to become a productive citizen, and well-rounded person.
Answer from Elaine Gauck:
Proficiency tests may not be perfect but it is the best method available.
