1. What are your views regarding the need for public transportation in your community to promote access to employment throughout the region?
|
Answer from Kerry D. Rabe:
If businesses in Sharonville are ever going to compete in the current marketplace, we must enhance mass transit. We must find a way to move the needed employees and customers to our businesses.
2. Would you be in favor of county-wide campaign finance regulations that would provide for public matching funds, limit campaign contributions and provide for more disclosure? State your opinions on these ideas; whether you would support or oppose them.
|
Answer from Kerry D. Rabe:
Matching: I am strongly opposed to public matching; way too much money is already spent for campaigns. I believe voters are tired of the candidates constantly asking for more. Campaign contributions: There should be a limit, some candidates will never be able to compete in certain heavily funded campaigns.
Disclosure: More disclosure is not necessary; the current disclosure requirements discourage average citizens from participating in government.
3. What are the benefits/detriments to land use planning prior to zoning decisions?
|
Answer from Kerry D. Rabe:
Careful decision making is essential in planning for the best use of our limited land space. We must always realize that many people who live, work, and play in our city depend on us, their city leaders, to make the best use of the land. Too many communities suffer from spot Zoining, often leading to costly litigation.
