Full Biography for Doug Finlay

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Redwood City School District

Doug Finlay, 45, is finishing his first term on the Redwood City Elementary School District Board. He grew up in the suburban Chicago, and received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1976. He came to California to attend graduate school at Stanford, where he received his M.S. in Engineering-Economic Systems in 1977. Mr. Finlay has worked for several high-tech companies in Silicon Valley, most recently as the Chief Financial Officer of an Internet company located in San Mateo.

Married in 1979, he and his wife Katie have 3 children who attend District schools. They purchased their first home in Redwood City in 1980. Mr. Finlay designed and built their current home in 1987. In addition to his involvement with the District, Mr. Finlay has served as a Director of the Emerald Lake Homeowners Association, and is an active member of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church.
