Political Philosophy for John C. StrawnCandidate for |
Economic Viability and Ecological Wisdom are NOT Mutually Exclusive As your councilmember, I will be devoted to the politics of ecological wisdom and sustainability. I will work to facilitate the needs and desires of the citizens of Santa Barbara with the challenges of open space protection, restoration of the environment and the revitalization of small businesses. I support the town hall concept. I support expanding our community healthcare ventures, including a mental health drop-in center. I support including ecological and environmental studies as part of primary education. I support the creation of a multi-use visual and performing arts education center. I support the revitalization of senior housing in the city core. I support municipal purchasing of renewable energy resources and expanded recycling programs. With your help and creativity and the tolerance of all citizens, Santa Barbara will be admired not only for its physical beauty but its civic acheivements. |
