My concern for protecting the natural beauty of our environment is also directly linked to public health. The air we breathe and water we drink must be made safe.I support the restoration and protection of the ocean and our beaches; the preservation of urban agricultural and wilderness spaces; the identification and rehabilitation of wetlands; the recognition of Santa Barbara as an ecological watershed; municipal purchasing of renewable energy resources and expanded recycling programs. I believe we need to rein in multi-national corporate power and make polluters pay for the cleanups which they cause. I support farmer's markets and organic community gardens. I support universal health care. |
