Additional Endorsements for Eric A. MontizambertCandidate for |
During the past 18 months as a Tamalpais Community Services District Director and, previously, as a Park and Recreation Commissioner (1994-1998), I have actively participated in District decisions that have directly affected our community and quality of life. Those decisions included upgrading the Tamalpais Valley Community Center, reducing graffiti in our neighborhoods and parks, more effectively managing District lands and infrastructure, and implementing curbside green-waste collection. Our Community Center is an excellent facility, thanks to the generosity and cooperation provided by the Tamalpais Valley Improvement Club, and the dedication of the TCSD. Together, we worked to upgrade the Community Center to offer our residents a superior hall for town meetings, private parties, and organization-sponsored events. Graffiti in our neighborhoods has been an ongoing problem. Since 1994, I personally "adopted" a local bridge and removed graffiti whenever the bridge was "tagged." I also advocated an effort by the Parks and Recreation Commission to remove graffiti when it first appeared on District property, and I contributed articles on the subject for the TCSD quarterly newsletter, thereby raising community awareness of the graffiti problem. This is an effort I have continued for five years, and I intend to continue it in the future. With the unavoidable loss of a site for the Saturday debris service earlier this year, the TCSD Board of Directors studied alternative solutions to collecting residents' yard waste ("green waste"). Following this study, the Board voted unanimously to purchase residential green cans that each homeowner could use for curbside collection of yard waste. This has been a tremendous success and we intend to expand the service in the future. |
