Where Next?

Both in the areas of fire prevention and public education, significant gains can be, must be made. We need to expand the excellent programs now in place. The HEART programs, as well as the neighborhood clean-up programs, must be expanded to include more of Novato's population. Disaster preparedness, specifically with a focus on earthquakes continues to be a primary focus.

Novato has just experienced its first fire related death in nearly 10 years......and even one is one too many. There is more we must do to educate the public and ensure working smoke detectors are a fixture in every residence.

In the area of finance, your Fire District is without equal. However there are clouds on the horizion. An increased focus by some State Legislators, envious of our financial status, appears to be building. One of my top objectives is to ensure all of the hardwork, sacrifice and detailed planning that has earned us this financial stability is not undone.

I care passionately about our Fire District. There is simply nothing more important to me then ensuring its continued excellent operation.
