Virginia A. Maas is completing her first term on the Beverly Hills School Board. She is a graduate of UCLA with Bachelors and Masters degrees in English Literature. Her husband is Francis Maas, a 1962 graduate of Beverly Hills High School. She has one child who is currently attending school in Beverly Hills and one alumna. Virginia Maas has a significant history of volunteerism and service to our schools. Her service includes her positions as President of the Beverly Hills Board of Education from 1997 - 1998, Member of the Board of Education from 1995 - 1999, President of El Rodeo PTA from 1993 - 1995, Vice-President and Co-Vice President, Endowments/Major Gifts, Beverly Hills Education Foundation from 1992 - 1995, and President El Rodeo Site Council from 1991 - 1993. In addition, she has served as a classroom and library volunteer at El Rodeo School from 1987 - 1995. Virginia Maas has served as a leading community activist in Beverly Hills for over twenty-five years. Her responsibilities include her current position as Second Vice-President and Board Member of the Friends of the Beverly Hills Library. She has years of service to the Jewish community, including current President of the Board of Trustees fo Temple Beth Am, current Vice-Chair and Board Member of the University of Judaism, past-President of the Board of the Jewish Community Centers Association of Greater Los Angeles and past-President of the Board of the Metropolitan Region of the Jewish Federation Council. Virginia Maas is a dedicated member of the Beverly Hills community. Her integrity and values are models that our students can respect and follow. Her past efforts reflect her commitment to our schools and her desire to strengthen the educational program and quality of education that we give our students, reflecting our community pride. |
