Full Biography for Porfirio J Frausto

Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Pasadena Unified School District; Seat 1

Pofirio Frausto is a life-long resident of Pasadena, with family roots in this community since 1929. He attended PUSD schools and graduated from John Muir High School. Frausto entered the U.S. Army shortly after high school. In 1974 Frausto was named "Soldier of the Year" for the U.S. Army's European Operations. Muir High School honored him in 1998 by placing him in their Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding service to the Pasadena Community. Porfirio's son is currently attending a PUSD elementary school. Frausto, therefor, has a vested interest in making our schools better. Qualifications:

The qualifications and experience that Frausto brings to this office include being an activist in Pasadena for over twenty-five years. He has worked to improve this community by serving on the Board of numerous local community-based organizations, some of which are the following:

Member, Pasadena Citizen's Police Academy Member, El Centro Member, Japanese Cultural Institute Member, We Care Chair, Affirmative Action Commission, City of Pasadena Member, Charter Reform Panel, City of Pasadena Member, Community Health Alliance and Proposition Y Oversight Committee, PUSD.
