Full Biography for Virginia A. "Jinny" Dalbeck

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; La Canada Unified School District

Jinny Dalbeck, a former teacher and native Californian, and her husband Richard have lived in La Canada since 1975. Their two daughters are both graduates of the La Canada Unified School District K through 12 school system. A School Board member since 1994, Jinny has been president, vice president and is currently Clerk of the Board. She has chaired the 5 Star Coalition of School Districts (La Canada, Burbank, South Pasadena, Pasadena, Glendale) for the past three years. Jinny also chairs the City Council and School Board's Joint Use Committee. An active community volunteer, Jinny has served as PTA Council President, LCF Education Foundation Director, and in numerous PTA offices. She is a member of the Assistance League of Flintridge, Junion League of Pasadena, and serves on two boards at USC. Jinny also served as the GATE Coordinator for the District from 1989-91 and has been a member of the Association of Gifted Educators. Jinny received her BA, Masters of Arts, and standard secondary life teaching credential from UC, Santa Barbara. Her awards include Teacher of the Year, Huntington Beach High School District (1975), PTA Honorary Service Award (1993), and USC Widney House Alumni Award (1999).
