Full Biography for Arthur Dennis CrableCandidate for |
The first 25 years of my life were spent at 424 South Oak Knoll, two houses south of the Pasadena Unified School District's main offices. I attended Mckinley Elementary, McKinley Jr. High, Blair High School, Pasadena City College, CSULB, UCLA, and finally, UC Irvine from which I graduated with a BA in English Literature. While at UCLA, I became an NCAA All American in Men's Foil Fencing. I have represented the United States in fencing in Paris, Austria, Germany, and Britain. I have been rated as high as the fifth best fencer in the United States. All this is to say that I know what it feels like to win. Also, this opportunity was made available because of my ability to seek a higher education. Even PCC will be out of the question for over half of our 24,000 PUSD students, much less UCLA or UCI. In 1982, I began a job as a proofreader for a CPA/Consulting firm specializing in hotel management and development. Because of my research and writing skills, and after I graduated from UCI, I was promoted to consultant in 1986. From 1987 to the present I have alternated working as an Environmental Consultant and a substitute/ full-time teacher. |
