Full Biography for Daniel M. "Danny" Akagi

Candidate for
Board Member; Castro Valley Sanitary District

Born in Berkeley, raised in Oakland. Received BS and MS degrees from UC Berkeley in Civil Engineering, specializing in sanitary engineering. Professional sanitary engineer for 18 years. I have worked as an engineer for municipalities, sanitary districts, and consultants. I have memberships in the Water Environment Federation, California Water Environment Association, California Association of Sanitation Agencies, and Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Fraternity.

My work experience includes sanitary engineering projects accross the US, People's Republic of China, and the State of Kuwait. Projects have been for clients as small as Castroville, CA to as large as the City of Los Angeles. I have authored numerous papers, made presentations, and sat on review teams for vairious aspects of sewer system operations and maintenance, including computer applications, infiltration/inflow and overflow reduction.
