Full Biography for Debra Gravert

Candidate for
Member of the State Assembly; District 10

From growing up on a local dairy farm, to managing a small business, to becoming a Chief of Staff in the California Legislature, Debra Gravert has been hard at work making life better for her family and her community. Up with the sun, she learned responsibility and the value of hard work at an early age as she helped her parents and five sisters and brothers with the daily chores on the family farm.

Following college, Debra managed the operations of a small local business that helped injured workers find jobs. She was then offered a job in the Califonria Legislature as staff to the Assembly Public Safety Committee where her efforts to reduce crime and take violent criminals off the streets earned her the endorsement of the California Organization of Police and Sheriffs.

Debra then went to work for the Chair of the Select Committee on Veterans Affairs, helping to ensure that those who sacrificed for our country received the benefits they deserve. Currently serving as Chief of Staff to the Chair of the Assembly Labor and Employment Committee, Debra daily fights to preserve the rights of working families throughout California.

As a mother, Debra understands the importance of providing a safe and secure environment in which children can grow healthy and strong. Debra will fight to ensure that her daughter and all of California's children will receive the quality education they deserve. That is why the California Federation of Teachers has endorsed Debra Gravert.
