Accomplishments

Succussfuly secured monies to develop a portion of the San Francisco Bay Trail at Oyster Point Marina/Park. Successfully advocated for monies from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES) to restore the shoreline at Oyster Point Marina/Park damaged in the storms of January 1997.

1. Wrote and obtained $154,000 in grants for the Oyster Point Bay Trail and Windsurf Launch Ramp projects located at Oyster Point Marina/Park, South San Francisco. Funding was received by the San Mateo County Transportation Authority ($79,000) and Association of Bay Area Governments ($75,000).

2. Secured FEMA/OES grant monies for the shoreline restoration project at Oyster Point Marina/Park which was heavily damaged in the Winter Storms of 1997.

3. Secured local funding from the City of Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival to design and purchase Interpretive Signs at Pillar Point Harbor, Half Moon Bay.

As a Harbor District employee for several years, I have intimate knowledge of the issues, concerns and opportunities affecting the District. My experience with the District lessees has given me ultimate respect for the small business owner in their daily struggle with operating a business at Pillar Point Harbor and its parking issues.

I ask your vote and confidence in electing me Harbor Commissioner. My years of employment with the District has given me inside knowledge and appreciation about the issues affecting the District, which I would not have acquired, without being a "worker" at a Harbor District.
