Tahnee Stair is a 23 year-old temporary office worker living in the Mission District. Stair is a socialist, and member of Workers World Party and Peace & Freedom Party. For the last five years she has been part of the dynamic youth movement, organizing on campuses and in the community against racism, attacks on affirmative action, privatization of education, the "Contract on America," tuition hikes, sexism and anti-lesbian/gay bigotry,removal of subsidized and affordable housing, police brutality, and to free all political prisoners. Stair has traveled to Cuba twice, organized against war and sanctions in Iraq, the blockade of Cuba, and against U.S.imperialist and military intervention around the world. As a young woman worker and political activist, Tahnee Stair sees that the impact of destructive political and social policies on youth and our communities must be a top priority for the city.
