Don Wolfe best exemplifies the qualities needed for leadership in our Community College District.Don Wolfe has committed his life to public service and opening doors of opportunity for young people in our community. This, combined with his business and educational experience, makes him qulaified to help college officials make the excellent quality of education in our colleges even better. The high quality needs of Silicon Valley require only the best. Our community college system is uniquely positioned to fulfill the personal needs of our youth and older students as well as fill the personnel slots of a growing high tech industry base. Don Wolfe recognizes these quality of life issues for each individual as a person and the Valleys' needs for motivated and qualified leaders of commerce. Don's dedication to the field of education is exemplified in his experience as a lecturer on the graduate and post graduate level. He knows and appreciates our community college system. Each course that is offered should enrich the person and add value to his or her life of the student. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Valley Transportation Authority. In that position is responsible for providing the policy decisions for the 2000 employees of VTA as well as the nearly $300 million budget and the operation of our vital transit system in Santa Clara Valley. He has studied the traffic and transportation needs of our students and faculty and will offer bus and other transit solutions to ease traffic around our campuses. We need his experience and leadership. Don was a Planning Commissioner prior to his election to serve the people of Saratoga on the City Council. He is presently the popular Mayor of the town that is the home of West Valley College. He has always proven to be a dedicated friend of the colleges and was invited to addresss the graduating class of 1998 at West Valley. Don serves on the board of a number of local charities and was the President of his church parish council. He is committed, qualified and compassionate.
