Full Biography for Mary L. Perry

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Campbell Union School District

I have served on the Campbell Union School District Governing Board since 1990. In that time, I have been pleased to help the district make progress in many areas.

Major construction projects to modernize our school facilities, and build three new schools, have been completed on time and on budget. Computer and Internet technology have been introduced in every district classroom. A new system for student testing and school accountability has helped measure and improve student achievement. A comprehensive new training program has helped give Campbell teachers the skills and knowledge they need to improve student learning even more.

My eight years as a school board member have taught me the importance of high standards for everyone in the district, from students to superintendent. I understand what schools need to do to keep the focus on students and student learning. I have learned the importance of communicating with the community about what is going well in our schools, and what needs to be improved. And I remain committed to making the schools in Campbell Union School District the best they can be -- so our students can reach their full potential as well.
