Political Philosophy for Nancy M. MuchaCandidate for |
As an incumbent, a teacher and counselor, and community member for more than 20 years, I support academic excellence and strive to provide the opportunity for every child to be successful -- these are the goals to which I am and shall be committed. I believe we must equip each student for a competitive world. To that end, I introduce eight-graders to the local business environment through activities such as "Shadowing" and "Business Education Committee" Programs. Both programs are cooperative ventures of Mountain View's Chamber of Commerce and the city's school districts; both give students an appreciation for and understandings of the way many of our Mountain View business work. I also believe that teacher development and continued assessment programs are integral parts of the successful educational system: They must be maintained. Safe schools, parent involvement, parental choice, and fiscal responsibility are essential factors in providing an excellent education. |
