Richard Hobbs is the President of the Governing Board of the San Jose/Evergreen Community College District. During the past four four years, he voted to hire the most innovative and experienced executive management team ever assembled in SJECCD; to strengthen transfer curricula and articulation to four-year institutions; to expand partnerships and course offerings that lead to high-paying jobs; such as the Intel simulated wafer lab and EMT programs at San Jose City College; to create model workforce prepartion programs; and to re-engineer student services and restructure management. Richard authored a new vision statement for the District, which begins "Our highest goal is to create productive, caring, ethical, well-rounded human begins." He is a strong supporter of Measure I on the November ballot, which will repair, renovate, and rebuild obsolete facilities at San Jose City College and Evergreen Valley College. Richard is a long-term resident of San Jose and is a homeowner in Willow Glen. He is a member of the Willow Glen Neighborhood Assocation and has served as an assistant soccer coach in Willow Glen PAL. He is married with two children. |
