Full Biography for Dominic L. "Dom" Cortese

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Alum Rock Union School District

Dom was born and raised in the Santa Clara Valley. He graduated from Pala School in the ALUM ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT and went on to Bellarmine College prep. Dom also went to Santa Clara University and graduated with a Political Science degree.

In 1954 Dom left his home in San Jose to serve in the US Army during the Korean War. When he returned in 1956 he started Country Club Villa Properties. In 1969 Dom ran for Santa Clara County Board Of Supervisors. He was re-elected to that seat for 12 years. In 1980 he first ran for State Assembly and was elected and re-elected to eight consecutive two year terms. In 1996 his term was up. But is not formally retired. When Dave, Dom's son, started his business Cortese Law Offices, Dom became the consultant for goverment and commercial purposes. This is still the case today.

And now in 1998 Dom is running for Alum Rock School Board. Vote for him in November!!!
