Shall Section 1000 of the City Charter be amended to remove from the list of positions coming within the jurisdiction of the General Service the position of school crossing guards?
Impartial Analysis from the City Attorney
This measure amends Section 1000 of the City Charter. Section 1000 currently designates school crossing guards as a position within General Services. The amendment of Section 1000 removes school crossing guards as a designated position within General Services.

Arguments For Measure M
Section 1000 of the City Charter provides a list of jobs under the jurisdiction of the City's General Services which includes school crossing guards. The City does not and has not provided school crossing guards in over two decades. To aid in the Charter "clean-up", the City Council recommends you vote yes on Measure M.
