  • Science teacher, Carpinteria High School, 1969-1977; substitute teacher, 1977-79.
  • Current member of the Santa Barbara School Board, elected in 1994.
  • Board member, Santa Barbara County School Boards Association; President 1998.
  • Extensive training through California School Boards Association; earned Master of Boardsmanship Award in 1997.
