New Summerland School/Toro Canyon Road site

I am looking forward to building another much needed school on Toro Canyon Road...
I am looking forward to building another elementary school on Toro Canyon Road as soon as the final EIR is approved. This shcool is NOT being built for a small number of children. Both Canalino and Aliso Schools will be relieved of their overcrowding as the District boundaries are redrawn.

Summerland School will actually be ethnically BALANCED by pulling from more areas of Carpinteria. Next June, the three-year state waiver expires and twenty children have no classroom to return to in September of 1999. It is immoral, not to mention illegal, to place a portable classroom on the children's playground. Even IF the State of California would allow Carpinteria Unified School District to build a multi-story school at the present site (which they have said they won't), I can just imagine how much the neighbors would appreciate the new school blocking their beautiful ocean views!

The children of Summerland deserve to attend a REAL School! We MUST put the children's needs first!
