I grew up in the Santa Maria Valley. Over forty-three years ago, I married my high school sweetheart, Sylvia Mullings. We have two children: a daughter, Brandi and a son, Joseph Dean. On my 21st birthday I joined the Santa Maria Police Department. While working and raising my family I attended night school, eventually earning a Masters Degree and an ABD Degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate Univer- sity. After my retirement on December 31, 1988 I continued to serve the Community as a Trustee at Allan Hancock College. I am currently an elected member of the Santa Maria City Council. |
