I believe that as a community, one of our greatest responsibilities is to provide the best possible education for our children. Since moving to Roseville in 1 987 I have been active in the Dry Creek School District. I have worked in my children's classrooms. I have been involved in PTA, School Site Council, The Art Docent Program, district Year-Round Committees, and campaigned for the school bond.

Since becoming a Trustee in 1994 1 have participated on task forces for instructional materials adoptions, class size reduction, and standards development. I have worked with district staff design communications material and met with various PTA's and other community groups insuring open and effective communication. I helped implement a new method for collaboration and negotiation between the district and it's employee groups. I have helped provide additional housing for students and I have lobbied legislators in Sacramento on issues of importance to our district. I currently serve on the Woodcreek High School Site Design Team. My background in Business and Finance help me to understand the complexities of the District budget and the need for financial stability.

I truly appreciate the opportunity to serve the Dry Creek community. If reelected I will continue to work hard on your behalf to help the district establish and maintain high academic standards, hire top quality staff, provide adequate facilities to minimize overcrowding, address the educational needs of all students including GATE, special needs, and limited English speaking students and maintain the financial integrity of the district.
