Two years ago, Jennifer, my wife, Lauren, my daughter and I moved to Elk Grove. We bought a home and we are building our future here. An integral part of that future is Lauren's education. The quality of the Elk Grove school district was one of the major motivations for moving to this area.

One of the ways I can insure that Lauren receives a quality education is to become involved in the school system. My experience in vocational training, youth programs, child development, life skills training classes, staffing and budgeting make me well qualified to be a member of the Elk Grove School Board.

I graduated in 1990 with a degree in government from California State University Sacramento. After graduation I went to Poland and taught English as a second language. I helped reshape the antiquated curriculum in a school that was dealing with political and social turmoil.

Since returning to the United States I have been working with non-profit social service agencies that address family problems. Currently I am the director of the Broderick Christian Center in West Sacramento, an agency that provides housing and child care to under-priveledged families. I have seen far too many neglected children who do not have an opportunity to grow as an individual and as part of a family. I bring 8 years of experience working in communities in association with governmental agencies to improve the quality of life and meet the needs of individuals.

Elk Grove is a fantastic community with many talented people. Our schools are great but experience outside the classroom is also important. I have managed programs that link schools with businesses and community agencies and I know how to make these endeavors successful. I have the ability to implement programs and educational activities that will insure a bright future for our children.

We need to provide activities for the younger children before and after school. We need to prepare our high school students for college and a competitive job market.
