Political Philosophy for Lance PinkhamCandidate for |
The future of our democracy is dependent on the successful education of our children. I believe it is the elementary school district's responsibility to provide a core curriculum that prepares our children for High School and beyond. Curriculum must focus on more complex and in-depth study of subjects beneficial to success in the 21st century. Beyond academics children need to be offered a curriculum that includes the arts. Vocal and instrumental music, theatre and art expand the mindand help children gain a level of confidence that leads to success in other subject matters. It is through open lines of communication and the free flow of ideas (Accessibility), the establishment of goals and tools to measure progress (Accountability), that a framework for our children's future success can be built (Achievement). |
