Political Philosophy for Nancy PadbergCandidate for |
The focus for the future of our college district needs to be on educational excellence and providing improved programs for students. Policy development by the Governing Board must emphasize involvement of all participants in the educational program including teachers, students and staff. Shared governance is mandated by law and should be desirable for optimum performance and morale. Any airport developed at El Toro will adversely impact the district by driving property values down and decreasing a major funding source for the district. The development of the space dedicated to the college district at the closed Tustin Marine base will be less desirable with an airport operating at El Toro. Budgetary constraints must remain in place while educational programs are supported and allowed to progress. |
