Kevin McDermott was elected to the Bakersfield City Council in 1987. He has served as Vice Mayor and on Budget,Urban Development, and Intergovernmental Committees. Kevin is a Senior Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch. He graduated from Bakersfield High School before attending Stanford, earning a BA in Economics. Kevin earned an MBA from Harvard University. He founded the Centennial Celebration Foundation, which has raised $2 million for Centennial Plaza. Kevin and his wife, Nancy, have four children.
