Full Biography for John T Sudman

Candidate for
Board Member; El Dorado County Board of Education; Trustee Area 1

Relevant to my efforts to be elected to The County Board of Trustees is that I have been actively involved with school age children throughout my adult life. I held recreation jobs while in college and taught seventh and eighth grades for three years before attending law school at UCLA. From 1989 to 1994 I was a member of the Buckeye Union Elementary School District and was Chairperson for two years. Presently I am a member of the Board of Directors for New Morning, an organization which provides counselling for families living on the Western Slope. I often speak to high school civics classes about my job as Public Defender for El Dorado County, a position I have held at the discretion of our County Board of Supervisors since 1987. As Public Defender, I have assingned myself to represnt children in juvinile court to whom the Courts have appointed our office to represent.

I am married to Rita Sudman who is the Executive Director for the Water Education Foundation in Sacramento and have one daugthter, Suzanne, who is a junior at Oakridge High School. I am actively involved in Suzanne's school and sports activities.
