WHY DOUG QUELLAND IS RUNNING FOR THE U.S. CONGRESS IN THE 4TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

"I am an Independent. I have always been an Independent. At the heart and soul of this independent is my commitment to my neighbors and my community.

I have lived and worked in this district for over 20 years. I am involved with my neighbors projects, coach my neighbor's children, worked on community issues including school districts, Blockwatch programs, YMCA, Student Venture, Young Life, Teen Challenge, as well as various outreach ministries.

I believe I know what my community thinks and I believe I know how they think. I see them every day at my business, talk with them at different sporting events, and go to Church with them. I am a working man who is in touch with all segments of my community. I know I can out work anyone in Washington D.C. I believe I can also out think most of them. I don't throw ‘mud', I won't scheme, and I won't out spend them.

We have a government in this country that only money can buy. The Political Action Committees and special interest groups give millions of dollars a year to candidates who frequently do nothing more than hold out their hands to get these monies. I don't want any campaign monies from non-district groups or individuals. We need to take back our government from big money interests. I will not be bought.

I am not a career politician. I believe the fathers of our Constitution would never have allowed professional, career politicians to be eligible to hold office. Career politicians are out of touch with the people they represent. I am absolutely, without hesitation, in favor of term limits. The citizens of our country must be protected against career politicians.

I am not a lawyer but I have many friends who are. I believe we have enough lawyers in Congress. We need more teachers, coaches, and small business owners as Representatives in the U.S. Congress. We need their perspective and their unique experience. We do not need the experience of lawyer after lawyer after lawyer.

As a high school soccer Coach, I have been able to use my years of experience with young people to serve not only as a teacher but also as a role model. I count it a blessing to coach what I consider great high school athletes. Coaching at this level gives me a perspective that very few representatives in Washington D.C will have. As a Coach, I am an encourager, a trainer, a motivator, and committed totally to the team concept.

If elected, I will be one of the few people in Washington D.C. not worried about the next election. I am not concerned about getting re-elected. As an Independent, I would be a target of both major parties as someone they could and would want to defeat in the next election. My desire is to represent my district, my neighbors, my friends, and my community. I care more about them and the next generation than I do about my next election.

I have always looked at politics from afar and like most of my constituents felt there was no reason to vote. I always asked why do we not have better choices, why do we have the same politicians running all the time. When you get to know me better, you will not have to ask these questions. But if you don't' know me yet, than all I can tell you is I Believe I am a Good Reason to Vote Again.

Against All Odds, I will be your next U.S. Congressman in the 4th District."
