Education and Qualifications:

You elected me four years ago when I said, "Bring Brisbane Back to the People."
I listed some things that I felt must be accomplished to make the city a better
place for the citizens.

Before you elected me, I said City Hall must be moved back into Brisbane, we
were paying too much rent for a building that would equal a million dollar
mortgage, but now, after you elected me, we opened a new City Hall, brought it
closer to you, and this saved us $70,000.00 per year!

Before you elected me, I said the ballfields were dead and unsafe, but now,
after you elected me, the playing fields are restored at the Elementary School
and Marsili Field. 

Before you elected me, I said the teens had no place for activities, but now,
after you elected me, we opened the teen center.

Before you elected me, I said the swimming pool was nothing more than a broken
promise for over 30 years, but now, after you elected me, we approved the
Lipman School site, the swimming pool will open by summer of 1998.

We've got a new General Plan. It's like a business-plan, it tells what we're
going to accomplish, when and where we're going to accomplish it. For instance,
the city's sewer system upgrade, it'll be done this year. It'll have a 40 to 50
year life-span! Our new park is practically done. Construction of our Senior
Housing Project will begin early next year. We gave money to extend our
library's hours, buy new computers, an after school activities bus for our high
schoolers, and summer jobs for our youth.

I believe our environment is important, the council approved a wetlands flood
control project for North Bayshore, it'll enhance our environment. In fact, the
overall beauty of the city looks better than it ever has. I believe in a
balanced budget, the budget is balanced, and is healthier than it's been since
the mid 80's.

We've got challenges ahead, such as, a comprehensive open space plan, a wetland
river park on the Baylands, and many more, in addition to daily operations.

My wife and I grew up in Brisbane, I have a lifetime invested in this
community. I listen! I work hard! I get results!  Brisbane's back with the
people! I ask you to keep me as your representative and re-elect me to the City
Council.
