I believe in giving our children the best possible preparation in their earliest years for an increasingly competitive world that is changing at unfathomable speed. They need to be exposed to as many different experiences and visions as possible in order to prepare them for the challenges they will face throughout their academic careers and on into their adult years. At the same time, I believe that parents need to be involved in the process of their children's education, and this, by nature, invites differences of opinion involving culture, family traditions, and many other issues. I believe it is the School Board's job to provide informed leadership in setting the educational tone for the District, and at the same time, engender compromise and consensus where opinions differ.
