The city of San Mateo has made much progress in the past four years but there is still much to be done. For the first time in many years, the city is in good financial health and downtown is booming. It is important to maintain our economic stability by continuing to streamline city government and cut costs while at the same time provide the quality of services you expect.
Our challenge has been and will continue to be to balance economic development while protecting our quality of life. As the city prospers, we need to correct growing traffic and parking problems. We must continue to improve the safety and beautification of all of our neighborhoods.
In my first term, I have worked hard to be responsive to your concerns, to be fiscally responsible, and to make city government accessible. My experience in the community-- serving you as a Councilmember, working for children as a school board member, developing home care and housing options for seniors as an administrator- has provided me with a unique background for this position. With your support I want to make San Mateo an even better place in which to live.
Donšt forget to vote on November 4th and I would very much appreciate your vote.
