Local government is where decisions affecting public safety, community services, and quality of daily life must be made. To support these basics there must be adequate resources. Financial strength and stability are maintained by planning and budgeting for expenditures. The quality of decisions depends largely upon the regular involvement of local residents and business owners in evaluation of needs and priorities. Good local government also requires a professional and dedicated staff. As a Council member, I must pay attention to emerging issues, listening and respond to individuals and groups. I am thoughtful and independent. I have a special interest in involving individuals and neighborhood groups in government processes.
