Education & Qualifications:

Our community has many opportunities to maintain and enhance our quality of
life and provide genuine visitor-serving facilities so that others may enjoy
and appreciate our Coastside. During my two years on the Council, we have
improved our understanding of the political process and strengthened our ties
to Half Moon Bay. Overall, the Council's relationship with the Board of
Supervisors is much better, partly as a result of overwhelming citizen support
of Measure T that validated the coastal opinions our Council had portrayed to
the Board. During this time, I have tried to balance opposing interests and
reach decisions that are fair and equitable to all concerned.

If re-elected, I expect to continue to bring an analytical mind to issues that
face our community, to monitor long-term projects of interest such as the Half
Moon Bay Airport, to work towards a thorough examination of the financial and
social consequences of incorporating as a separate city or annexing to Half
Moon Bay, and to help preserve the oceanfront and green belts that define our
community.
