Detailed Biography for Micki Schneider

It has been my priviledge to serve the citizens of Palo Alto as your elected City Councilmember for the past four years. During that time I and the other members of the Council have initiated the framework for the Copmprehensive Plan, the road map that will take Palo Alto into the 21st century. I have embraced the concerns of our neighborhoods by encouraging autonomy within each distinct group. I have supported the construction and development of afforable housing so that Palo Alto can remain a economically diverse community.

Looking forward I will continue to have as my top priorities solutions to traffic congestion; the preservation of historic houses without sacrificing any personal property rights; encouragment of controlled growth sensitive to our environment; institution of alternative transportation methods; compassionate solutions to assist those in need; and promotion of our City's economic viability.
