Statement of MICHAEL J. ROORDA, Candidate for Treasurer, Short Term Occupation: Financial Analyst Age: 40 Education and Qualifications: As City Treasurer I will work to ensure that the highest standards are maintained in the areas of financial planning, expenditure tracking, and investing. My approach to business planning and investment is conservative and systematic with the foresight to see the longer term consequences of financial decisions. Part of my commitment to the community is to sustain my impartiality throughout my service as Treasurer. In this way I can work to ensure that the City's financial information represents an unbiased and accurate view of their financial position. To accomplish these objectives I bring nearly thirteen years of broad financial experience in the areas of investment and corporate planning. I have a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and have been the treasurer for two nonprofit organizations, covering some four years of service. I am originally from Palos Verdes, California and have lived in California all my life. My wife and son and I moved to Morgan Hill in 1994 and intend to stay a very long time. I am dedicated and committed to maintaining the characteristics of this community that first brought us to Morgan Hill.
