Education & Qualifications:

As a parent, an incumbent on the Board and a teacher, I am aware of the
importance of education. My family moved to Burlingame because of its fine
schools and our two children have reaped the benefits.

As trustee for the past five years, my focus has been on the quality of the
instructional program, while being fiscally responsible to Burlingame
residents. I helped oversee the renovation of our schools that has enhanced the
learning environment. I supported the addition of a curriculum facilitator who
has helped develop district-wide standards, evaluated through testing. To find
necessary space for class size reduction, Roosevelt School has been reopened
and the district office has moved from a school site. I have been an advocate
of maintaining support services for library, music and physical education.

If re-elected, I will focus my attention on continuing to provide students with
a first-rate instructional program. We must support the professionalism of our
teachers and continue to deliver a curriculum strong in basic skills, science,
technology and the arts. Only then will the students of this District be
prepared for the 21st century.

Educaci÷n y Calificaciones: 

Como madre y titular de la Junta y maestra, me doy cuenta de la importancia de
una educaci÷n.  Mi familia se mudo a Burlingame debido a su excelentes escuelas
y nuestros dos niöos se han beneficiado de ello.

Como miembro de la Junta por los pasados cinco aöos, mi Únfasis ha sido la
calidad de los programas de instrucci÷n, y a la vez siendo responsable por las
finanzas de nuestros residentes.  He ayudado a supervisar la renovaci÷n de
nuestras escuelas las cuales han ampliado el ambiente educacional.  He apoyado
la adici÷n de una persona que prepare un plan de estudio para formular normas
en todo el distrito las cuales son evaluadas por medio de ex½menes.  Para
reducir el tamaöo de las clases, la escuela Roosevelt se a vuelto a abrir y las
oficinas del distrito se han mudado fuera del plantel.  He luchado por mantener
los servicios de apoyo como las bibliotecas, educaci÷n fisica y mþsica.

Si soy reelegida enfocare mi atenci÷n en continuar proveyendo a los estudiantes
programas educacionales de primera clase.  Debemos apoyar el profesionalismo de
nuestros maestros y continuar suministrando un plan de estudio con Únfasis en
destrezas b½sicas, ciencia, tecnologia y las artes.  Solamente asâ los
estudiantes de este Distrito estar½n preparados para el siglo veintiuno.
