Lee Panza Age: 49 Occupation: Incumbent Education and Qualifications: When I first accepted the responsibility of this office I had no idea of the enormity of the job I had taken on. My first few years were a blur of studying and preparing for meetings - not only of this Council but of the other agencies that I represent Brisbane's interests at. It amounts to a second full-time job. But serving on Brisbane's City Council is also a very satisfying job; seeing people whom I know and care about benefiting from my efforts makes it all worthwhile. Having invested eight years of my life learning how to get things done it's especially gratifying to see tangible results taking shape. Now I'd like to finish the projects we've gotten started. We're making Brisbane a better environment to raise children in or to enjoy one's Golden Years in. It's a truly special place worth working to preserve. The City Council is the Board of Directors of your community - we don't repair the streets or fight the fires, but it's up to us to see to it that the services this government provides are done properly. As a construction Project Manager by vocation I'm well experienced at overseeing a complex organization and making sure it produces the desired results. I know enough about streets and water systems and landscaping and such to see for myself whether they're being properly cared for. My ten years as a Volunteer Firefighter here gave me a strong working knowledge of our Fire and Police services (while they were joined as a Public Safety Department) as well. More importantly, however, I'm deeply involved with the most important element of this wonderful community, you and your neighbors - the people of Brisbane. I've tallied almost thirteen years of 100% participation in our Lions Club (I'm currently serving as Treasurer), and I help out one way or another with just about every major event this community holds. I'm always listening to what anyone has to say about how Brisbane is being governed, and I'm hoping to continue turning those thoughts into action. Please don't be reluctant to call me (468-3821) whenever you have a question or complaint (or compliment) about your local government. That's what I'm here for: I work for you! Thank you! /s/ Lee Panza
